Oak Island police are investigating after finding two people dead inside a home.
On Aug. 23 at 11:24 a.m., officers from the Oak Island Police Department were dispatched to a home on NE 31st Street in response to a report of multiple deaths at a residence, according to a news release from the town of Oak Island.
Upon arriving, officers found the remains of two adult individuals, one male and one female.
According to the release, there was no previous or imminent danger at large.
An exact cause of death will be determined following a full autopsy, along with an investigation by the police department, with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. All names, ages, and personal information will not be published at this time.
