Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/33-18)
INDIANAPOLIS 12, SYRACUSE 9 (BOX)
If this was meant to be Brandon Sproat’s audition for a bullpen role…it did not go well. The righty’s see-saw season had a distinct downer on Sunday, allowing seven runs (five earned) in 3.2 innings of relief on seven hits an a pair of walks. Granted, this was a crazy offensive game all around – Jared Young had the most notable performance for Syracuse with a double-dong day – but this still doesn’t build much confidence in his ability to reinforce the major league bullpen.
