BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. reached a new high in membership as it reported quarterly increases in sales and profits but a dip in comp sales.

During the second quarter of fiscal 2025, BJ’s reported net income of $150.7 million, up 4% from $145 million in the prior year quarter. Earnings per share rose 5.6% to $1.14 from $1.08. Net sales rose 3% year over year to $5.26 billion from $5.09 billion. Comparable store sales fell 0.3% including fuel due to declining fuel costs but increased 2.3% without fuel based on strong store traffic.

T he membership club retailer also hit a new membership milestone of 8 million, with 90% renewal rate. Membership fee income increased to $123.3 million, a 9% increase from $113.1 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2024.
