One person died and two were injured last week in a five-car crash on southbound Interstate 25. Now, Denver investigators are searching for two hit-and-run drivers involved in the fatal collision.

Denver officers responded to reports of a crash on southbound I-25 near West Eighth Avenue just before 10:15 p.m. last Tuesday.

That crash, which shut down the soundbound highway for roughly three hours, killed a motorcyclist, injured the motorcyclist’s passenger and injured another motorist.

An unknown motorist struck the back of another car and pushed it into a stalled vehicle on the highway, police said . A motorcycle and a fifth vehicle then crashed into the back of the three-car collision.

The motorcycle driver and passenger were both thrown from the bike, police said.
