The Eastpointe Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously last week to deny a sign variance request from Sheetz.
The Pennsylvania-based company is building a new Sheetz gas station and convenience store at 19001 Nine Mile Road on the northwest corner of Beaconsfield Avenue.
The city zoning ordinance requires that monument signs are placed a minimum of 10 feet from the existing right of way. Sheetz requested a 4.58-foot variance in effort to place their monument sign 5.42 feet away from the right of way.
