Hamburger Mary’s — Dallas, located at 4123 Cedar Springs Road, Ste. 101, has closed its doors, according to co-owner Donald Smith.

Smith and Romeo Vale took over ownership the restaurant and drag venue from HV Entertainment LLC in early January this year. Smith said today that he and Vale had “tried to make it work, but we just couldn’t.”

But, he added, “We are very proud of the community we built here.”

Smith said he and Vale are moving back to Houston where they will “try to regroup” and maybe return to Dallas with a new venture in a couple of years.

Mario’s Mexican and Salvadoran Restaurant, which was located at the other end of the building at 4123 Cedar Springs Road, closed earlier this month.
