MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WKRN) — The National Guard or federal troops could be deployed to Memphis to crack down on crime.

During an interview with conservative radio host, Todd Starnes, President Donald Trump said he would put Memphis "early on the list" of cities where the feds could step in to help reduce crime.

"And I'm sure the people would love it," President Trump said.

Sen. Brent Taylor (R-Memphis), who launched the #MakeMemphisMatter" initiative on social media to raise awareness about efforts to crack down on crime, told News 2 he'd gladly accept help from the federal government.
