In her practice pen in Stephenville, Texas, Jackie Crawford is chasing the same rhythm she’ll need in Scottsdale this November when the biggest purse in the sport is on the line.

Now in its second year, the Kimes Ranch Million $ Breakaway at WestWorld of Scottsdale is the richest in breakaway roping, drawing the sport’s top women ropers to compete for a share of a million-dollar purse.

Last year, Hali Williams walked away with $115,000, the high-money earning title. Crawford, already a 23-time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association champion, has her sights set on adding her name to that list.
