DALLAS — Some might call it a hot spot.

“We own the Lucky 7 Convenience Store which is the only convenience store inside the State Fair of Texas, on the fairgrounds,” said Jonathan Maples, Maples Foundation, business partner and Lucky 7 Convenience Store owner.

With the FIFA World Cup coming to North Texas next year, Maples is betting on change.

“We’re a minority business, and we just don’t want to be left out,” Maples said.

In years past, Maples and others in South Dallas said being left out is what happens.

“It’s unfortunate that, especially here in South Dallas, that the Fair doesn’t feed the community enough,” Maples said.
