CHICAGO (WGN) — More than 24 hours after a young boy suffered a gunshot wound to the head in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood, several questions remain.
The deadly shooting incident appears to have been a tragic accident.
The update comes more than 24 hours after a young boy's shooting inside the South Side apartment. According to the Department of Child and Family Services, the child is 4 years old. The boy lived with a foster family at the time of the shooting, sources told WGN-TV.
According to Chicago police, the incident occurred in the 4400 block of South Greenwood Avenue just after 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24. First responders rushed the boy to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
