Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former New South Wales police officer, has pleaded not guilty to the murders of Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies. The 30-year-old entered his plea during a court appearance via video link. He has been in custody since February 2024, following his arrest at a Bondi police station after the couple's disappearance.

Baird, a 26-year-old television presenter, and Davies, a 29-year-old Qantas flight attendant, were allegedly shot inside Baird's home in Paddington. Their bodies were discovered the following week in surfboard bags at Bungonia, approximately 200 kilometers south of Sydney. Authorities allege that Lamarre-Condon used a service-issued Glock pistol in the shootings.

During the hearing at the John Maddison Tower Local Court, Lamarre-Condon's lawyer entered not guilty pleas to two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one count of aggravated break and enter. This marks a significant step in a case that has faced numerous delays over the past 18 months, including changes in legal representation.

Lamarre-Condon is accused of becoming fixated on Baird after a brief romantic relationship. Reports suggest he may have stalked Baird, breaking into his home and damaging his car prior to the alleged murders. Friends of Baird reportedly noted that he had expressed concerns about a "shadowy figure" appearing in his home.

After the alleged murders, Lamarre-Condon is said to have hidden the couple's bodies in surfboard bags he purchased before submerging them in a dam. Following his arrest, he reportedly disclosed the location of the bodies to detectives.

The case has now been committed to the New South Wales Supreme Court, where an arraignment is scheduled for early October. Lamarre-Condon remains in custody at Silverwater prison. His mother attended the court session to support him. The legal proceedings will continue as the case unfolds.
