CHICO, Calif. — A 46-year-old man was arrested in Chico on August 15 after being stopped by a deputy for riding a bicycle without proper lighting.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office stated that Ezra McDaniel had a felony warrant and was taken into custody without incident.

Officials say that a search of McDaniel’s backpack uncovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, an air pellet handgun, and a mask. At the jail, more methamphetamine was found in his wallet, totaling approximately 14.94 grams.

Due to previous convictions and Proposition 36, McDaniel faces a felony drug charge.
