(NewsNation) — A Kentucky sheriff who allegedly fatally shot his county's judge feared for his life, and that of his family, when arrested by his deputies, bodycam video shows.
Newly released video taken just moments after now-former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn "Mickey" Stines allegedly left Judge Kevin Mullins dead on the floor of his own chambers in 2024 shows Stine's state of fear, suggesting to his deputies, "You're gonna kill me."
The bodycam footage came from a state trooper who says he's known Stines his whole life.
Stines repeated "I don't feel safe" to the arresting officers and one deputy told Stines not to worry and "I ain't gonna let nothing happen to you."
