RIVERS — Spruce Woods candidates were putting in the final push Monday before today’s byelection.

NDP candidate Ray Berthelette and Progressive Conservative candidate Colleen Robbins raced around the riding all day, going from town to town to knock on doors, while Liberal candidate Stephen Reid took the day off after a busy weekend.

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew joined Berthelette in Rivers in the afternoon, where the pair, along with about 25 volunteers and NDP staff, targeted homes with residents that hadn’t gone out to vote yet.

“I don’t think that we could have run a better campaign, and that’s because the people have been willing to take the time to talk to us,” Kinew said while campaigning at homes on Second Avenue in Rivers.
