A 33-year-old Jersey City man is wanted by authorities after being charged allegedly stabbing a Bergen County woman and trying to shoot her, authorities said.

Yusef E. Muhammad was charged with attempted murder in the stabbing that occurred on Aug 18, said Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella in a release.

Hackensack Police were called to Hackensack University Medical Center at 9:25 p.m., about a 33-year-old woman being treated there for multiple stab wounds.

She was admitted in critical condition, underwent emergency surgery and survived, authorities said.

The victim was allegedly stabbed in the torso multiple times by Muhammad, while both were inside her parked vehicle in Hasbrouck Heights, investigators from Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Hackensack Police
