Murder suspect apprehended

A coordinated operation between municipal and state law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a man wanted for homicide on Saturday morning.

Mexicali police officers and agents with the State Citizen Security Force arrested Orlando Javier, a 26-year-old from Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. He was taken into custody with an illegal weapon and was found to have an active warrant for homicide.

The arrest took place at approximately 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of Río Nuevo Boulevard and Oaxaca Street in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, where officers from both agencies were conducting a joint patrol.
