Drivers throughout the UK are being cautioned about an obscure Highway Code regulation that could result in a substantial penalty, simply due to how they position their vehicle overnight. The Highway Code states that it's against the law to park facing against traffic flow during darkness, except when in a designated parking space.
The rationale concerns visibility: headlamps are engineered to reflect from a vehicle's rear, not its front. When positioned incorrectly, cars become more difficult to detect, heightening accident risk.
