POIPU — Logan Laymon of Kapaa held off Owen Hegrenes of Lahaina, Maui, by two strokes to win the Boys 15-18 Flight at the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association/First Tee Hawaii Poipu Bay Junior Classic that wrapped up on Sunday at the Poipu Bay Golf Course.
Hegrenes took the lead on Saturday by tying with Stirling McLoughlin of Koloa at 7-over 79, three strokes better than Laymon’s 82. On the second day of the 36-hole tournament, Laymon reversed the field by taking the lead with a 2-over 74.
Laymon finished the two days with a 156 followed by Hegrenes at 158, and Renyn Lee of Kapaa at 165. Jayvin Raquel of Anahola was the fourth Kauai golfer participating in the flight. He finished fifth, overall at 172.
