A six-week road closure is in force in Leicestershire to help create a new "Quiet Lane". Diversions are in place throughout the length of the closure.

The closure, which has been put in place by Leicestershire County Council , affects a stretch of road near Kegworth , including Long Lane and Ratcliffe Lane. For the next six weeks there will be daytime closures from 7am until 6pm, as well as restrictions on waiting and loading along the length of road.

This is so the county council on behalf of North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) can put in place a "Quiet Lane". The quiet lane scheme involves making changes to a road and giving priority to people walking, cycling or on horseback.
