The number of people injured in a Leicestershire dog attack has risen. Police have made two arrests in connection with the incident which prompted the response of armed officers.

Leicestershire Police was called to two separate reports of an attack within an hour of each other in the Beveridge Lane area of Bardon, near Coalville , last Thursday (August 21). The two incidents reported a number of people being attacked by two dogs in the area.

In the interest of public and officer safety, firearms officers were deployed to the scene . A police dog and its handler also attended.

Initial police reports suggested four people were injured in the attacks. In an update issued today (Tuesday, August 26), police said that number has now risen to six. The two additional victims came forward
