September heralds many things — the end of the summer, the beginning of the new school year, and, most relevantly for our purposes, the expansion of Major League Baseball’s regular season rosters. While the first day of September does not have the same impact it used to, when rosters would expand from 25 to 40, the addition of two roster spots for the season’s stretch run nonetheless creates several questions for teams to solve as they navigate the final month of the season.
