CHARLOTTE ( CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE ) — By Tuesday at 4 p.m., every NFL team will have to have no more than 53 players on their active roster.

However, that does not mean that roster is what they will take into Week 1. Teams will then be able to claim or sign players who were waived or released by the other 31 teams. With injuries and contract decisions, rosters are very fluid throughout the season.

Coming into Tuesday, Carolina needed to make 19 more moves to get down to the 53-man limit. So far, those moves have included releasing edge rusher Boogie Basham and safety Trevian Thomas, and waiving cornerback Mike Reid and running back Raheem Blackshear.
