Doug Most has spent a lifetime writing, and he has the clippings to prove it.
The Barrington native started writing professionally — that means earning a freelance paycheck at the Barrington Times — when he was still in high school. He continued writing in college, working part-time as a sports writer for the Washington Post, and after graduation took a job at a newspaper in South Carolina. He has worked in newsrooms up and down the east coast, including 15-plus years at the Boston Globe. Marty Baron, the famed editor from the Globe’s Spotlight team, recruited Most to work at the Globe’s magazine. Most now serves as executive editor for a program at Boston University.
While the newsrooms have changed over the years, one thing has not: Most’s passion for writing.
