FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A new study done by the pet insurance comparison site Pet Insurance Deals reveals the states most in demand for veterinarians.

The need was calculated by examining which states were searching for 153 different veterinarian-related terms on Google. An example of some of the searches might be “Mobile vet near me,” “24-hour emergency vet,” and “Signs your dog needs a vet,” looked for across the United States.

Indiana ranked 17th overall with 96,788 average monthly searches across the state, which equates to 1,410 searches per 100,000 residents. That puts Indiana 9% higher than the national average of 1,285 searches per 100,000 people.
