MARTINSBURG – WVU Hospitals East is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Johnson, MHA, as AVP of ambulatory operations, effective September 2025.

Johnson brings more than a decade of experience in healthcare leadership, most recently serving as director of clinical operations at Optum in Phoenix, Arizona. There, he led in operational excellence and strategic leadership—qualities that align well with the expanded scope of his new role overseeing a $117 million ambulatory division, and drove significant improvements in quality performance and patient outcomes.
