Mecklenburg County Public Health recently unveiled a new Mamava Lactation Pod at the BOPlex Coliseum, as part of its ongoing promotions related to the health benefits of breastfeeding.

“Ensuring access to private breastfeeding spaces helps to keep parents, families and babies in our community healthy,” said assistant health director for population health Dr. Kimberly Scott in a statement. “Public Health is proud to partner with BOPlex and other grassroots community organizations to offer pods or make over other private spaces for breastfeeding or pumping.”

The BOPlex includes Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium facilities, which are owned by the City of Charlotte and operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA).
