How Newsom redistricting plan would affect Coachella Valley

Much of the Coachella Valley would move into Democratic-leaning congressional districts under the redistricting plan proposed by Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Democratic leaders.

The changes, which will only go into effect if California voters approve in November, would be a dramatic shift for parts of the valley now represented by a Republican, longtime Rep. Ken Calvert.
