A new survey from Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research found that more than 80% of Houston-area residents think the U.S. immigration system is not working well, while most also oppose mass deportations and support increased pathways to U.S. citizenship.
According to the survey published Monday, 70% of residents in Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery counties believe the federal government needs to increase pathways to citizenship for people who are in the U.S. without legal status.
