Mt. Ashland Ski Area plans two autumn events, including its very first Oktoberfest celebration, the recreation park announced. The second event is a Halloween haunt with trick-or-treat festivities.

Oktoberfest is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on for Sept. 13. Activities include live music, food trucks, artisan vendors, contests, kids' activities and an outdoor beer garden with local brews, ciders and wines, according to the ski area's announcement. Participants can also join the Mt. Ashland Trail Run, which starts at 7 a.m. with a race to the summit.

Tickets for Oktoberfest go on sale the last week of August and include a limited-edition Mt. Ashland beer stein and beverage tokens.
