For the second time in two weeks, Barrington Police issued a warning to a local teenager for illegal operation of an electric bike.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, Barrington Police responded to the intersection of Woodhaven Road and Nayatt Road for an accident involving a car and an electric bicycle. Police said a 15-year-old Barrington boy was riding the electric bike when it collided with a car. According to police, the boy thought the car was going to stop, but it did not and the two collided. Police said the boy fell to the ground and suffered some minor injuries. Police notified Barrington EMTs about the accident and they responded to the scene.

Police later issued the teenager a warning for illegal operation of an electric bicycle.
