Worker injured after trench collapses during expansion project for church on Telge Road, south of SH 99 in Tomball, officials say

TOMBALL, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was hospitalized after he was pulled from a 12-foot-deep trench that collapsed at a construction site on Tuesday, according to authorities.

The Tomball Fire Department says crews were digging a trench as part of an expansion project for a church, located on Telge Road, just south of SH 99.

Fire officials said the man suffered injuries to his lower extremities when the trench collapsed.

SkyEye was above the scene as firefighters lifted the worker out of a 12-foot-deep trench. The worker was alert and talking as he was taken to the hospital, according to the fire department.
