Maricopa County District 1 Supervisor and former Chandler City Council member Mark Stewart is hosting a “Ted Talk” event, focused on teen safety, on Friday.
“Stronger Together: Safe Minds, Safe Communities” is a free event set for Friday, Aug. 29, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Student Union of ASU Prep, 5999 South Backus Mall, near Mesa Gateway Airport.
The event will start with “Ted Talks with Solutions,” including words from Arizona DPS gang detective Julio Chavez, youth digital wellness and mental health advocacy expert Katey McPherson and a student-led panel.
A Q & A panel will include specialists on various aspects of well-being, including Natasha Davis, Chandler Unified’s counseling director.
