PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested three people after a stabbing that left a man hospitalized in Southwest Portland on Monday. The victim is expected to survive.
Around 5:10 p.m., the victim, a 44-year-old man, had just left the Multnomah County Central Library near Southwest Yamhill Street and Southwest 10th Avenue when he saw a "disturbance" and tried to intervene, according to Portland police.
One suspect stabbed him multiple times and two other people with skateboards assaulted him, the agency said. The man, who hasn't been identified, was hospitalized but is expected to survive his injuries.
The three suspects ran away. Police officers located them in the Holladay Park area of North Portland and took them into custody.
