TONTITOWN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Tontitown police arrested a man on Aug. 24 after he led an officer in a more than 100 mph pursuit that ended with a crash.
Chad Douthit, 32, faces charges of fleeing, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, failure to obey a traffic device and theft by receiving.
According to Tontitown police, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a Douthit who ran a red light. Douthit immediately fled at more than 100 mph.
Police say the officer attempted to perform a TVI maneuver to stop the pursuit, but Douthit slammed on his brakes and swerved at the officer.
According to police, the pursuit continued at high speeds into a construction zone on Highway 412 when the driver lost control at a curve, rolling the vehicle multiple times up a concrete embank
