CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal has released the name of a Charleston man killed in a motorcycle accident Monday on I-26.

38-year-old Arthur Houston died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash, according to the coroner's office.

On Monday, officers with the Charleston Police Department responded to the scene in the westbound lanes near mile marker 218 around 1:32 a.m.

According to the department, investigators determined the rider failed to negotiate a curve and then struck a guardrail. They added that speed was also a factor.

The Charleston Police Department is the lead investigative agency.
