ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers' ace Nathan Eovaldi is likely out for the remainder of the season with a rotator cuff strain, according to a report from MLB.com's Brian Murphy.

The right-handed pitcher, who has an 11-3 record and 1.73 ERA, most recently started in the Rangers' matchup with the Cleveland Guardians on Aug. 22, when he pitched seven innings, striking out nine batters in a 4-3 win.

Previously, Eovaldi missed time in June as he dealt with right elbow inflammation, Murphy reported.

The Rangers, who are currently 5.5 games back from the wild card position in the standings, are dealing with a handful of injuries as they trudge through the final quarter of the regular season. This past week, the team placed INF Jake Burger, RHP Chris Martin and 2B Marcus Semien on the Injured
