WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Plans are set for a Saturday evening Wild West-themed fundraising gala supporting Children in Need, the impactful nonprofit doing wonders in Hagerstown for more than a quarter-century.

"We had a family this past year," Children in Need executive director Brittany Wedd said. "That unfortunately, lost their housing and were living in a van. We were able to support them while they tried to secure housing. After about eight months, they were able to get into their new house through the Hagerstown Housing Authority."

James Itell manages Younger Insurance in Hagerstown and helps with the nonprofit's shoe drive.
