A man was killed and four others were injured Tuesday afternoon after an SUV crashed into a Planet Fitness in New Jersey.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. when the vehicle careened into the gym on Newark Avenue in Elizabeth , about 15 miles west of New York City in Union County.

The man, who was exercising inside, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three others, all Planet Fitness employees, and the woman who was behind the wheel were also taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Neither the identities nor the ages of the driver or the victims had been released as of Tuesday evening.

The cause of the crash was also unclear, though the mayor’s office said “all parties are cooperating” with the ongoing investigation.
