SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Rain hasn't been in short supply in KELOLAND. Meteorologist Adam Rutt takes a look.

August featured several rounds of rain across the region, and while some areas have seen much more than others, it's been a welcome sight and better than the alternative.

Nearly the entirety of KELOLAND is seeing a surplus of rain compared to what is typically seen over the last thirty days. While there are a few exceptions to this in pockets of southwestern South Dakota, we've been able to…overall…maintain consistent chances for rain.

Lately, though, it's been east-central and northeastern South Dakota that have seen the lion's share of the rain. Notice the pockets of two inches and higher rainfall around Huron, Watertown, and areas northeast of Mitchell in Miner County.
