VAN BUREN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Crawford County high school football match-up, The Battle of the Bone, pits the Van Buren Pointers against the Alma Airedales for the 79th year.

Alma is hoping for the advantage this year, after losing the annual showdown two years in a row.

In 2024, the Pointers defeated the Airedales 37-27. KNWA/FOX24 caught up with both teams ahead of the game.

"The biggest thing with us, our numbers aren't really just as high as they've been, but the quality of the guys that we've got. We'll have the ability to kinda play one-sided football and even have some depth," said Moe Henry, head football coach for Van Buren High School.
