A split New Castle County Council voted to reject an official review of how Tyler Technology conducted the recent property tax reassessment.

After four hours of discussion between the Finance Committee and then the regular County Council session, the council voted 7-6 to not officially request County Auditor's office look into valuation methodologies, fair market value, the county's direction to Tyler, the appeal process, or any other information the auditor wished to look into.

Councilwoman Dee Durham said it was a high-level audit request.

"The auditor would be looking at the methodology, the processes, and what the contract called for them to do, and whether they did that accurately."
