San Diego police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a 17-year-old girl in the Torrey Pines area last week.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. last Friday, after the Torrey Pines High School football game, in the parking lot of 3500 Del Mar Heights Road.

Surveillance video from that night shows the teen and her friends walking into a shopping center near the Bank of America. At that point, a car sped forward and struck one of the girls.

Police say the girl was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

"It was very scary, very traumatic for the girl that got hit, obviously. The other girls are very traumatized by it, too. To see something like that happen is just awful," said Cliff Thomas, the stepfather of one of the victim's friends. "So our concern is that we need witnesses
