Edinburgh's Queensferry RNLI crew responded to a total of 14 incidents within the last few weeks, including rescuing stricken paddleboarders and people in difficulty at a beauty spot.

The hero volunteer group were tasked to a wide range of multi-agency incidents which saw people stranded in the water, casualties injured and a boat in need of towing back to harbour.

On Sunday, August 17, the team were tasked to three back-to-back incidents. Shortly before 6pm they were called to a broken down vessel off Granton and drifting into the Birnie Rocks.

Upon arriving on scene, the decision was made to tow the boat to the safety of Granton Harbour.

They were then re-tasked to reports of three paddleboarders off Joppa in difficulty and floating out to sea. All three casualties were located a few
