Barrington Police and Fire responded to the intersection of County Road and Mathewson Road on Friday, Aug. 22 after a vehicle struck a jogger as she tried to cross the road.

Police said the jogger was attempting to cross County Road at about 12:45 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle traveling west on County. Police said the jogger suffered a bump on her head and a chipped tooth during the accident. The police dispatch report stated that the jogger was conscious and dizzy when EMTs arrived.

The motorist told police she was driving west on County Road at a slow rate of speed when the jogger stepped out in front of her. A witness confirmed the report. Police issued the motorist a traffic court summons.

That was not the only accident that occurred at the intersection of County and Mathews
