Myanmar’s election is a sham orchestrated by China

Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s recent directive that the department and its diplomats should avoid commenting on the fairness and legitimacy of other countries’ elections will be put to the test this year in Myanmar. The military junta ruling the country, which is waging a brutal civil war against armed resistance groups, has announced plans for a national election to be held on Dec. 28.
