Derby City Council says it has "no plans" to repaint and remove St George 's flags from city roundabouts amid demonstrations taking place across the country.

It comes at a time when tensions are running high across England over immigration, with many people taking to the streets to fly flags.

A number of roundabouts and other public infrastructure, such as walls, have been painted across the city and county, and many flags have been raised, both on private property and on lampposts.

It's not the first time the city council has faced these demonstrations, which some would consider vandalism.
