E Komo Mai, the Kauai Community College equivalent to the “Welina Manoa” event discussed by UH News, will take place today in front of the Learning Resource Center starting at 10 a.m.

E Komo Mai, with representatives from the college’s various student-based clubs and government, is an orientation event for students to raise awareness and recruit engagement in the different groups and clubs on campus in Puhi.

KCC opened its doors to 1,347 students on Monday, according to Thomas No‘eau Keopuhiwa, KCC vice chancellor of Student Affairs. This student census is an increase of 1 percent from last year’s fall semester opening day census. Keopuhiwa said that overall, the community colleges in the University of Hawaii system showed a 2.6 percent increase from last year.
