Birmingham Mayor Woodfin won reelection with 74% of the vote, spending a staggering $1,372,886.13 as of his latest campaign finance report. With 99% of the election results reported, his total votes were 24,559, equivalent to spending $55.90 per vote.

Jefferson County Commissioner Lashundra Scales, who entered the race in late May, came in a distant second with 15% of the vote. Scales spent $40,388.21 getting 4,781 votes.

State Rep. Juandalynn Givan (D-Birmingham) spent $122,427.80 to get only 4.5% of the vote (1,395 votes) at approximately $87.76 spent per vote.
