COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus police say a pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle late Tuesday night.

The incident happened near the intersection of Buena Vista Road and Omega Drive, prompting authorities to close the area to traffic while emergency crews responded.

Police confirmed the victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

No additional details have been released as the Columbus Police Department continues its investigation.
