A 35-year-old Ohio man claiming during a traffic stop that he was helping a family member move across the country was actually hauling 1,402 pounds of marijuana and THC wax, according to newly-filed criminal charges.
Jacob Pasquale is charged with a felony county of dealing marijuana, records show.
A passenger in the vehicle, Tamy Brennan, 58, also of Ohio, is charged with dealing marijuana with a prior dealing conviction.
An Indiana State Police trooper said he was monitoring eastbound traffic along Interstate 80 in LaPorte County when at 3 p.m. Aug.19 he stopped a white rental box truck with an Oklahoma license plate.
The driver, identified as Pasquale, reportedly told the officer he rented the truck in Oregon to help a family member move.
